TRREB’s Government Relations Committee (GRC) Central Working Group continues to address key policy and housing issues affecting housing supply, development and the real estate market across the City of Toronto. Recent discussions focused on provincial legislation and Official Plan reviews, specifically how smaller minimum lot sizes can unlock new housing supply.
The group also examined an emerging shift in development, with some builders pivoting toward larger, more liveable units to meet market needs better.
In addition, the working group reviewed the Toronto Congestion Management Plan 2026–2028, traffic challenges in the downtown core, tunnelling on the Ontario Line, proposed legislation to expand Billy Bishop Airport, and potential impacts on Port Lands development.
TRREB remains committed to collaborating with the City of Toronto and other stakeholders to advance policies that foster sustainable growth, predictable development processes, and a more accessible housing market for residents. We will continue to monitor these issues closely and engage with municipal leaders to prioritize housing supply and affordability across the region.
